Current USCG OUPV (6-Pack) with Near Coastal Endorsement License. Current First Aid / CPR Certified. TWIC Card certified. In the 23 years of my boating experience, I’ve spent the bulk of my time operating in the waters off Southern California from the Channel Islands down to Northern Baja including all the Offshore Islands especially Catalina.

I am a non-smoking, fun, honest and knowledgeable Captain with a passion of the sea like no other. As proof of this my son’s middle name is “ Marlin.” My number one priority is the safety of my passengers and will always take care of the vessel as it was my own. I have been involved in many different fishing tournaments in the past years ranging from major marlin tournaments such as the Lahaina Jackpot Tournament in Maui, Hawaii, to halibut derbies such as the Marina Del Rey Halibut Derby in Southern California. I have acted as main angler to head captain. I truly love just being out on the ocean and enjoying all it has to offer.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Recommendations and references provided upon request.

I have been operating boats since childhood. After 4 years of training Coast Guard personnel how to navigate and operate vessels properly, I decided to go into business myself and be a free lance captain. I have a USCG Master Captains License, with a towing endorsement. I work locally here on the East Coast, as well as World Wide. Most of my work is short notice deliveries, so don't be worried to call. I also do a lot of work as a pleasure boat captain. I am a very fun guy, but serious when I have to be. I am very handy with electrical and mechanical issues. So if you want to hire a captain who will take care of your boat as if it were his own, then look no further. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks, Captain Kevin

I seek boat owners with vessels sized 50 ft. to 100 ft. that are interested in hiring me as captain for cruising, fishing, or diving throughout south Florida, Bahamas, and the Caribbean. I possess “full charge” competency and value the responsibilities of being in command. Boat owners, guests, and charter parties quickly recognize my professionalism in planning, provisioning, every day operation, and proficiency in making repairs, resourcefulness, and general vessel management. I served in the U.S. Navy upon small vessels on the U. S. east and west coasts and southeast Asia. I hold a U.S. Coast Guard Master 100 Ton license and have been captain on boats in size up to 85 ft. During my career, I have owned and operated boats having logged over 1500 days of sea time becoming mechanically proficient with experience in maintenance of reverse osmosis desalination plants, diesel engines, generators and air conditioning systems. As yacht captain, I have cruised throughout the east coast of Florida to Key West and most of the Bahamas. I am a successful sport fishing captain catching pelagic and bottom fish: drifting for swordfish, trolling for marlin, high-speed trolling for wahoo( placed 8th in 2003 and 6th. 2004 Bahamas Wahoo Championships), kite fishing for sailfish, deep water electric reel fishing for golden tilefish, yellow-eye snapper, queen snappers, assorted groupers, and can site and catch bonefish. Some of the most enjoyable fishing may be with light tackle utilizing chum to attract bottom fish including yellowtail, various snappers and groupers. I am an avid PADI certified diver and have exposed many boat owners and guests to diving with snorkel, and third lung to catch lobsters and shoot fish with an Hawaiian Sling. I consider myself to be presentable in appearance and personal dress/hygiene, sufficiently educated (MBA in Management) and well-rounded to carry conversation, coupled with a sense of humor to entertain. I look forward to demonstrating my knowledge, skills, and abilities as your captain. I seek a position as manager/boat(s) captain of a large private estate located in a maritime environment, preferably in the Florida Keys, Bahamas, and Caribbean. As manager I would manage a permanent staff for cooking and housekeeping; maintaining the buildings, property and villas; sportfishing boat(s), and catering to the owners' visits as well as guests and business associates sent to enjoy the resort/estate, boat(s), fishing, and diving in the surrounding waters. My education includes a B.S. degree in Management and a Master's Degree in Business Administration with Emphasis in Management. I am experienced in managing and supervising human resources of Bahamian, Caribbean, Latin American, and Asian decent and have operating knowledge of most business practices and computer software applications. I have considerable experience in hands-on maintenance of buildings. My construction knowledge, skills and abilities, that I perceive to be of value in a remote location including concrete foundations, floors, setting ceramic tile, plumbing and electric repairs, hanging and finishing drywall, painting, shingling roofs and generally most repair/rehabilitation work required on buildings. I have been a boat owner and captain for over 30 years and therefore have substantial experience with diesel engines, generators, water pressure systems, reverse osmosis desalination plants, outboard engines, and both power and sail boats. I have been a successful fisherman for pelagic and bottom fish, and dive with snorkel, scuba tanks, and third lung.

I am the Owner of Tidalwave Watersports in Charleston SC. The company is multifaceted, encompassing Parasailing, Charters, Boat/Waverunner rentals. This type of business is a seasonal business and for the most part I am available from OCT-May of any year. Being the owner of a company like this, you learn to wear many hats. One of the hats that I have become very good at wearing is the job of Mechanic. With a fleet of Parasail boats, rental boats and Waverunners I can honestly say that there is nothing mechanically that I haven't worked on. I have been in the watersports business since 1992. Many people will tell you that operating a Parasail boat is the hardest test of a Captain. I have operated many other types of Vessels. The largest being a 110ft Casino Boat I brought from New Orleans to the Port at New York City. Here are a few other qualifications - PADI Scuba Certified - CPR Certified - Drug Free - References Available One last note. When considering a Captain for hire don't just hire someone who knows how to steer a boat. My well rounded skills make me a great candidate for all your Captain needs.

Good day. I've been an offshore charter boat captain for 10 years. I'm adept at the maintenance of all boat systems and can repair most. I've captained three boats in the Edisto Island, SC area, a 33' Bertram Sportfisher, a 32' Luhrs express and a 38' Bertram Widebody Sportfisher. I'm familiar with the US east coast as well as the western side of the Bahamas but am confident that I can navigate a boat to any location desired. I am looking for a boat to captain and/or charter as my present owner is looking to "move up" but won't be buying his new boat for at least a year. I want a long term commitment to provide a boat owner with all the services he wants, from boat relocation to fishing to chartering (if desired) as well as anything else he wants in order to insure the reliability and availability of his boat. I look forward to serving you. Capt. Jim Bost

I am a 200 ton licensed master, holding both American and British maritime licenses, with over 30 years experience and nearly 300,000 sea miles in the marine industry. I learned to dead recon navigate at the age of 6 on an old Monterey double-ender fishing boat that my dad (a retired airline pilot) bought to run between San Pedro and Catalina. Subsequently, my dad went to Holland and imported 7 Strikers to resell on the West Coast and spent much of my youth fishing from the Channel Islands to the Mexican border. My family later transplanted to Friday Harbor in the San Juan Islands of Washington State and we lived on a small island in the harbor. My siblings and I ( eldest of 4 ) would go to school every day in a Boston Whaler. Weekends would be spent fishing and camping out on adjacent islands. Summers would be spent pulling salmon gillnet and commercial trolls in Washington and Alaska. My family still resides in the San Juans. I also fished longline for black cod off of Oregon. At 17, I enlisted in the US Coast Guard where I served onboard the Columbia River Lightship, went to Motorlifeboat School at the Columbia River Bar, attended the Coast Guard's Class A engineering school in Yorktown Virginia and served the rest of my time as engineer on Coast Guard Cutters in Hawaii, Alaska and the Gulf Mexico. As a yacht captain I have been based in South Florida since 1988. During that time, I have captained vessels to the Caribbean via Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands as well as worked for a resort as captain in Martinique running cruises to St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Bequia and the Grenadines. I also ran a large yacht from a resort in Aruba. Sportfishing background includes running various Hatteras, Ocean, Viking, Bertram and Striker boats. I once shipped a 54 Bertram from Savannah to Hong Kong where I splashed the boat from the ship and ran thru the Philippines, Palau, Yap, and to the vessel's base in Guam. I started up the charter business for the owners on Guam doing sportfish charters for Japanese tourists. I was also instrumental of starting an IGFA chapter on Guam. I have also fished 8 Hawaii International Big Game Tournaments out of Kona and three Bay of Islands tournaments in New Zealand. I am also a former commercial fisherman working in the salmon industry in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. I have delivered vessel between Florida and New England over 150 times, have 11 passages thru the Panama Canal taking boats between Florida and California and have years of experience in the Gulf of Mexico. Most of the time underway is doing the "low and slow" which means, lines in the water!! The majority of the vessels smaller than 70 feet have been managed and operated solo. On a personal note, I am an entertaining sort of chap; easy to get to know and strive to show everyone a great time. I have outstanding galley skills and have had recipes published in the past. I am single and sober. I greet each day with a big stretch and a big smile. I love my job! As previously outlined, I have strong mechanical aptitudes. An engineer qualified captain is a valued commodity. Preventative maintenance schedules are strictly followed. If there is one common compliment made by previous owners, it is that I have a keen attention to the details. Honesty, integrity and daily affirmations keep me centered. Other interests include trap and skeet shooting (I have been a skeet instructor), SCUBA diving (I have my own equipment), underwater photography and flying (I am an airline transport rated pilot) where I have crewed Learjets, Citations, Hawkers and Gulfstream jets. I sold my home in Fort Lauderdale last year and have no encumbrance to distract me from an extended voyage. I am currently finishing up a 7 month contract on a 63 Viking based in the Bahamas and I am available to start immediately. Qualifications USCG 100 ton master w/sail endorsement and commercial tow. If you just want to get away, your power boat or mine, Florida's west coast has a lot to offer. Either relocating your boat to Florida, or back home, it's no problem. I would enjoy your company during this cruise, or could bring my crew if necessary. I have been boating and fishing since Junior High (Long time ago !), and still enjoy the water. Also, on our cruise, we can also discuss the design of your proposed vacation villa, as I have also been an Architect for over 25 years. I recently acquired my OUPV Captains license, since everything you do nowdays seems to require some sort of license and/or tax, and will soon acquire my Masters license for a min. of 50 ton vessels. I haven't checked any of the charter services below, since my 38' cruiser isn't really set up for fishing or diving, but if you like to fish from your boat, no problem. Drop me a line, and I'd like to see what we can arrange. Thanks Capt. Dwight

Hello, My name is Robert Ferguson and I’ve been involved in the marine industry since I was nine years of age. Here is a brief summary of my background and experience: I am the son of a Military Marine Officer who subsequently afforded me the opportunity to acquire a great deal of knowledge, skills, abilities and experience regarding vessel operations, navigation and marine maintenance. As a teenager, I worked as a deck hand on tug boats and commercial fishing vessels with my father who had retired from the Coast Guard. I received my first USCG 100 ton Master Captain’s License in 1982 when I was twenty years old and have maintained this license to date. I have extensive experience operating a variety of gasoline and diesel powered vessels ranging from small recreational boats to 120’ commercial cargo vessels. I have operated these vessels in geographical areas from the Atlantic Ocean off Massachusetts south to key West and north thru the Gulf of Mexico to Texas. I also have experience operating vessels in the Bahamas. I am a certified “PADI” open water diver and am certified in CPR as well as a certified first responder for medical emergencies. I have always enjoyed the water and became a Florida Marine Patrol Officer in 1986. I subsequently became this agencies Marine Homicide Investigator in 1989. I trained and specialized in marine related accident investigations and reconstruction for approximately ten years before becoming a law enforcement supervisor. While employed in this supervisory position I held a seat on Pasco Counties Board of Waterways and Navigation in Pasco County Florida. This was an advisory board consisting of seven government officials which reported directly to the Pasco County Commissioners relating to identifying marine navigational needs as well as establishing and providing justification for “Idle Speed” zones and other marine related topics which were of concern for public safety. I still remain employed as a law enforcement supervisor in Florida overseeing both land and marine operations. Additionally I currently serve as our agencies Marine Safety Officer and have occupied this position for approximately nine years. This position requires that I supervise marine law enforcement officers working in the field on a daily basis. Additionally I am responsible for teaching newly hired marine law enforcement officers to handle and operate patrol boats as well as provide instruction on search and rescue techniques, navigation, marlinspike seamanship, marine maintenance and the use of many other marine related systems. While off I maintain a boat charter business offering private charters as well as scuba diving and deep sea fishing charters. Additionally I enjoy providing boat transport and delivery services. I also provide armed marine security and surveillance services for clients such as dignitaries and celebrities aboard either the customer’s boat or on my 35’ high performance center console vessel. I treat every customer's vessel as if it were my own! I am very easy going, courteous, conscientious, able to travel and would like the opportunity to earn your business. A copy of my captains license and other credentials are available upon request. If I can be of service, please contact me! * Robert E. WHATS A NICE JEWISH BOY DOING WITH A JOB LIKE THIS???? Yes, I may be “ONE OF A KIND”. Who ever heard of a JEWISH BOAT CAPTAIN? If you want a Captain that is a “YIDDISHER KOP” (Smart Person) who is also a “MENTSH” (Decent Person) who will take care of you or your boat like a “BALEBUSTE” (Excellent Homemaker) you found the correct person. I have been on or around the water for over 40 years. I know the waters of New York and Florida and all in-between. I now live in Orlando and can be anywhere in Florida in hours. I have a 100 Ton US Merchant Marine Officer License issued by the US Coast Guard. (Also with a Towing Endorsement – but you will never need that with me around) That does not make me a “MACHER” (Big Shot) but it does qualify me as a “MAYVEN” (Expert). With this license I can; Deliver you Boat or Yacht anywhere on the East Coast. Captain your vessel while you entertain. Move your boat or take it for service. Instruct you or your “ZEESKYTE” (Sweetie) on boat handling and “Rules of the Road”. Help you with boat trailering. Listen “BUBELE” (Darling) you would really like to use a Jewish Captain but have a few reservations. I know, you wonder how you got yourself into this “MISHEGAS” (Craziness) with a boat anyway? Call me on 407-399-8700 or send me an e-mail at mggh1@att.net and let’s talk. “OY” (A Disapproving Sigh) Aren’t you curious? “MAZEL TOV” (Congratulations) on having a beautiful Boat (Yacht). Now call me! By the way “GOYEM” are OK also! (I won’t translate that) “A SHEYNEM DANK” (Thank you very much)

I presently hold a U.S. Coast Guard Master 50 G.T. near coastal out to 200 N M with a commercial assistance towing endorsement. Coast Guard License #1159401. I also meet the STCW 1995 regulation. I have held a Coast Guard license since 1974. I am a retired professional fire captain with 30 years in the fire service. I have commercial fished in the lower Chesapeake Bay, its tributaries and the Atlantic Ocean out to 60 nautical miles. I have sports fished from Maryland to Florida all my life. I served four years in the U.S. Navy as an aircraft mechanic and was honorably discharged. I am a non-smoker and non-drinker. My goal is to deliver your yacht to your designated port safely and at a reasonable price. I will deliver your power yacht anywhere on the East Coast, Gulf Coast and Inland waterways. Yacht deliveries can include operational training en-route for the owner and/or family members or passengers if desired. You may rest assured that we do not take unsafe shortcuts or tempt poor weather to save an hour or a day. You should expect delivery of a clean, undamaged yacht. I will provide daily progress reports by phone to the owner if desired and repairs will be authorized by the owner before being performed by a qualified mechanic. It is the intention of the captain to travel 6 to 8 hours a day with 1 to 2 hours with refueling, minor maintenance and preparation for next day’s cruise. My average fee is $300.00 per day for the Captain and $150.00 per day for one crewman, plus meals for the duration of the trip. All travel expenses involved with reaching the pickup point and returning home from destination point for two people will be at the expense of the yacht owner. The yacht owner will also be responsible for Yacht delivery expenses such as, but not limited to fuel, dockage, repairs and towing if needed. Owners are expected to supply all Coast Guard required safety equipment which will be inspected by the captain before departure. The Captain will declare the vessel unseaworthy if contraband or drugs are found aboard. I will remove myself and crew from the vessel until such items are removed from the vessel. You should confirm with your insurer that you and the vessel are fully covered while under our command. Some carriers require a minimum number of crew and/or restricted hours of operation. I can work with you and your carrier to resolve problems of this nature. I will need written confirmation that your insurance is in full force for the duration of the voyage. This document, along with your boat registration or documentation papers must be on board during the trip.
