I have been operating boats since childhood. After 4 years of training Coast Guard personnel how to navigate and operate vessels properly, I decided to go into business myself and be a free lance captain. I have a USCG Master Captains License, with a towing endorsement. I work locally here on the East Coast, as well as World Wide. Most of my work is short notice deliveries, so don't be worried to call. I also do a lot of work as a pleasure boat captain. I am a very fun guy, but serious when I have to be. I am very handy with electrical and mechanical issues. So if you want to hire a captain who will take care of your boat as if it were his own, then look no further. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks, Captain Kevin

About Fishin' Coach Captain Dan Utley is a 30+ year veteran fishing the nearshore and inshore waters surrounding Hilton Head Island, and is a licensed Coast Guard Captain. Redfish are his specialty, but during the correct season the Fishin' Coach loves to pursue Cobia, Tarpon and other large predatory species (Sharks). Fishing techniques range from using dead or live baits on spinning and conventional tackle to artificials and sight fishing with Fly Gear. Techniques vary with the season, tides and weather. Trips are planned ahead of time combining the knowledge and experience of Captain Dan and the interest of clients. Fishing inshore is done out of a brand new 2202 Century Bay boat. Very stable yet can fish shallow. Offshore and inshore big water fishing is done out of a 28' Offshore Pursuit. Big, fast and boasts all the latest electronics and Coast Guard Safety equipment. Having spent almost 30 years teaching and coaching, Captain Dan has plenty of patience to "Coach UP" the beginning angler, and lots of savvy to challenge the experienced angler. Hello, My name is Robert Ferguson and I’ve been involved in the marine industry since I was nine years of age. Here is a brief summary of my background and experience: I am the son of a Military Marine Officer who subsequently afforded me the opportunity to acquire a great deal of knowledge, skills, abilities and experience regarding vessel operations, navigation and marine maintenance. As a teenager, I worked as a deck hand on tug boats and commercial fishing vessels with my father who had retired from the Coast Guard. I received my first USCG 100 ton Master Captain’s License in 1982 when I was twenty years old and have maintained this license to date. I have extensive experience operating a variety of gasoline and diesel powered vessels ranging from small recreational boats to 120’ commercial cargo vessels. I have operated these vessels in geographical areas from the Atlantic Ocean off Massachusetts south to key West and north thru the Gulf of Mexico to Texas. I also have experience operating vessels in the Bahamas. I am a certified “PADI” open water diver and am certified in CPR as well as a certified first responder for medical emergencies. I have always enjoyed the water and became a Florida Marine Patrol Officer in 1986. I subsequently became this agencies Marine Homicide Investigator in 1989. I trained and specialized in marine related accident investigations and reconstruction for approximately ten years before becoming a law enforcement supervisor. While employed in this supervisory position I held a seat on Pasco Counties Board of Waterways and Navigation in Pasco County Florida. This was an advisory board consisting of seven government officials which reported directly to the Pasco County Commissioners relating to identifying marine navigational needs as well as establishing and providing justification for “Idle Speed” zones and other marine related topics which were of concern for public safety. I still remain employed as a law enforcement supervisor in Florida overseeing both land and marine operations. Additionally I currently serve as our agencies Marine Safety Officer and have occupied this position for approximately nine years. This position requires that I supervise marine law enforcement officers working in the field on a daily basis. Additionally I am responsible for teaching newly hired marine law enforcement officers to handle and operate patrol boats as well as provide instruction on search and rescue techniques, navigation, marlinspike seamanship, marine maintenance and the use of many other marine related systems. While off I maintain a boat charter business offering private charters as well as scuba diving and deep sea fishing charters. Additionally I enjoy providing boat transport and delivery services. I also provide armed marine security and surveillance services for clients such as dignitaries and celebrities aboard either the customer’s boat or on my 35’ high performance center console vessel. I treat every customer's vessel as if it were my own! I am very easy going, courteous, conscientious, able to travel and would like the opportunity to earn your business. A copy of my captains license and other credentials are available upon request. If I can be of service, please contact me!
